It’s a slightly different blog post this week. I’m going to share a little about me and why I do what I do.
I have spent a long time recently working on self-development. I have had always had a huge interest in self-help, I could sell self-help books. I also have had a huge interest in essential oils and crystals, have done courses, and again have books. This was a hobby for me in my early years of teaching and then life came along. I had children and I had less time. All those things went by the wayside and all the self-development was forgotten. About 18 months ago, I decided I needed to revisit all this. I could feel myself settling into a rut, over thinking silly things, spending far too long on social media and I wasn’t truly happy. I was existing and living day to day automatically.
I began meditating, practising gratitude and working on myself again and then I joined a group run by Positive Paddy. I was loving it but I asked myself many times what I actually hoped to get from the group. I was blessed – I had a job I loved and I still do love it, I have a great family – what more could I want. I couldn’t answer the question but I knew there was something. I got frustrated during the year as I searched. Opportunities came along and I took them, but no opportunity felt right. However, I stuck with it and out of the blue, the Young Living opportunity came up. I knew this was what I was looking for. I have always been passionate about oils and now was my chance to share this passion.
I found online communities that are supportive and encouraging. I have made friends around the world. I can show my children that when you really want something you have all the tools within to achieve it. I have the most amazing tools at hand to support my family’s physical and mental health and I can help others have all this. The fact that I can make an extra income while I do all this is the icing on the cake. This gives me the freedom to make very special memories with my family and do things I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to do.
As I build my business, I have had the opportunity to share all the things I am learning with great people. The support I have had as I do all this is amazing. The skills I am developing in both my online work and my classes is priceless. I never thought I would stand in front of adults and teach about oils, I never thought I would have a blog and a website and a lead magnet all of which I made myself. This has been amazing for my feelings of confidence and self-worth. The beauty of Young Living is that you can do as much or as little of this as you want and still benefit greatly both personally and financially. You also have the option not to start the business side at all. In fact most people don't and are are just customers.
On top of that, the consistent use of oils has changed my life – I’m sleeping better, I have more energy, I have fewer mood swings, I have fewer hormonal issues I am more focussed and I have tools to use when things aren’t going well. Being able to do all this has been very empowering.
