Anxiety and Stress
Anxiety and stress are words we use and see used more and more every day. Some anxiety or stress is normal in every day life. Low levels of stress help us complete things, help us get things done and keep us safe.
However as our world progresses and develops, levels of stress and anxiety are increasing and for some of us we live with them all the time.
If you recognise yourself in any of the following, maybe it's time to deal with your anxiety levels. If you feel your anxiety isn't a problem yet, this is a good time to take action to prevent it getting worse.

  • Your Anxious Thoughts Don’t Go Away
Do you become incredibly anxious in situations where others might only get a little anxious, like during family gatherings? Does this anxiety also tend to last longer and be more persistent? When your anxious thoughts start to impact your daily life, that's when it becomes an issue.

  • Your Anxiety Manifests Itself Physically
If your anxious thoughts are accompanied by physical conditions, like restlessness, fatigue, and muscle pain, among others, it could signal that you need to deal with them. Anxiety can lead to gastrointestinal issues, like heartburn, cramping, and even diarrhea. These physical symptoms are as a result of your body being in a constant heightened state of anxiety.

  • You Can’t Focus
It isn't that uncommon for people who have a high levels of anxiety to be mistakenly diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This is because when you have high levels of anxiety, you tend to have difficulty focusing. When you're always anxious, you tend to be in your head constantly and can get distracted by the negative thoughts and obsessions rattling around in your head. To an outsider, it looks like you have ADHD.

  • You Have Trouble Sleeping
The anxiety that you experience tends to take your thoughts on a ride that leaves you struggling to catch some sleep.. According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), some level of sleep disruption is present in almost all mental disorders, including anxiety.

If you have more than one of these symptoms, there’s a good chance that you might be dealing with dangerous levels anxiety. However, before you jump to any conclusions, it’s best to speak with your doctor to rule out any other conditions, because anxiety symptoms often mimic other medical conditions. Fortunately, anxiety disorders can be treated so that you can learn to manage your symptoms and get back to living your life.

How can I help with high levels of stress or anxiety?

  • Breathwork
The single most powerful tool you have for controlling and regulating all your reactions, your emotions and your thoughts is your breath. The first thing I will do is teach you some breathing techniques you can use to regulate your anxiety levels on a day to day basis. However, regulating the anxiety levels is no good unless you then deal with the real causes of the anxiety. Deeper breathing practices help discover and release blocks that cause you anxiety and hold you back. Our sessions together will include some deep breathing techniques.

  • EFT
EFT is a tool that helps you discover beliefs you formed many years ago that no longer serve you. It allows you to release unwanted emotions, to deal with things that are causing stress and anxiety. EFT is a very powerful technique in dealing with phobias, emotional eating, and many other issues that lead to anxiety in our lives. As you discover things that are causing you to be anxious, we will use EFT to deal with them

  • Mindfulness
Often anxiety is caused by our minds anticipating what might happen. In our minds we live through things that haven't happened, usually imagining the worst case scenario. Mindfulness trains us to live in the moment, planning for the future but not living there. We will work on mindfulness techniques that will help us focus on and really live for the moment we are in right now.

  • Flower Remedies
Flower remedies are a very gentle way that we can use nature to support us as we deal with anxiety. In the short term, you can use an emergency remedy to deal with extreme panic or anxiety in the moment. In the long term, you will choose a combination of remedies you can take daily. These remedies will help you work through the issues that are causing anxiety.

  • Angels
Sometimes stress and anxiety brings confusion and inability to see the road ahead. In our sessions we will use the angel or oracle cards to guide and to help you to see past situations you are struggling with.

The combination of all these things is a very powerful way to take control of your life. You will no longer be at the mercy of external events. If you are in stressful situations, you will have strategies to control the stress levels. You will decide how to respond to things, no more mindlessly reacting. Your overall health - physical, mental and emotional - will improve. Your quality and enjoyment of life will increase greatly.
